Job summary

Wright Engineering is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Plater Welder to join our workshops in Worksop. This full-time role covers a range of projects from power stations to quarrying, with the chance to progress into supervisory positions within the group.

You will work on medium to heavy fabrications, read GA drawings, and weld to our in-house standards. The role may involve occasional site days with uplifted rates; training packages are provided, along with a pension and 25 days holiday.

Qualifications

• Experience in medium to heavy engineering fabrications.
• Ability to read GA drawings and detailed drawings.
• Experience marking out, drilling, cutting, bending, rolling, and welding.
• Welding will be qualified and tested in-house.
• Forklift/MEWP experience beneficial, training provided if required.
• Occasional site work with uplifted rates.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate and weld components to project specs.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and GA layouts.
• Mark out, drill, cut, bend, roll to required tolerances.
• Operate plant equipment as trained (MEWP, Loadall, forklift) if required.
• Support site and workshop tasks with flexibility.

Wright Engineering is looking to recruit enthusiastic and experienced Fabricators and welders to join our team servicing sites across the UK. This is a perfect opportunity for an enthusiastic and dynamic person to thrive, working within a successful and vibrant team.

Overview

• Based in one of our 2 workshops in Worksop, we are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Plater Welder.
• Work involves a wide variety of projects ranging from power stations, waste recovery, building product manufacture and quarrying industries.
• This is a full‑time position within the company, with the opportunity to progress into higher supervisory positions within the group.
• The ideal candidate will be experienced and trained to a good standard of workmanship and ideally be flexible to work on a variety of material grades including carbon and stainless steels.

Package

• Monday to Friday 07:30 – 16:00 (overtime available weekdays & weekend)
• £16.89 PH basic rate
• £22.34 PH overtime after 8 hours worked weekday and Saturdays
• £33.78 PH overtime all hours worked on Sundays
• 25 days holiday plus 8 statutory holidays

Skills Required

• Experience of working on medium to heavy engineering fabrications.
• Reading of engineering GAs and detailed drawings to a high standard.
• Marking out, drilling, cutting, bending, rolling and various types of welding.
• All welding will be qualified and tested to our standards in house.
• Plant operations such as MEWP, Loadall, forklift truck would be a benefit but not essential, training can be given if required.
• The role may involve the odd day on site, which would see an uplift in the hourly rates accordingly; this is very rare, but may occur.
