Starting salary £30,461, increasing to £34,925 after completion of first stamp + Shift allowance

As a Plater within our MRO team, you'll be responsible for a variety of operations. We encourage a proactive approach, providing you with the chance to implement continuous improvement methodologies and refine our assembly processes.

What will I be doing?

  • Electrical circuitry and Surface Finishing - Chromium, Nickel Cadmium and Zinc Nickel
  • Prepare and mask up components during the pre-plating process
  • Set up tooling, fixtures and assist in new tooling design
  • Use a wide and varied range of precision measuring equipment
  • Read component maintenance manuals, complex drawings and engineering layout information to determine methods and sequences of operations needed to complete repairs of parts within specified dimensions and tolerances
  • Grit blasting, strip chrome, Shot peening, strip cad & strip sermetel

Shift work will be required

Job Requirements

What do I need to succeed in the role?

  • Ideally you'll have an Engineering/Plating Apprenticeship or equivalent ideally gained in the aerospace or automotive sectors
  • IMF Foundation / Technician Qualification or equivalent (preferred)
  • High attention to detail with strong quality awareness
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Willing to train and take on board new skills
  • Involvement in continuous improvement activities to reduce shop processing times and manufacturing hours
