Job description
Overview

We are looking for a Plater for a permanent position based with our client in Chesterfield. Immediate start available (Subject to interview process). Rate of pay is £17.00 per hour for basic hours. Working hours are Monday to Thursday 6am - 4.30pm (4 day working week).


Responsibilities


  • Fabrication and development on bespoke steel fabrications in a heavy engineering environment. Ie Bridges, staircases, gantries. (Road & Rail)

  • Using varying workshop tools, plant and machinery.

  • Working from engineering drawings & specifications.

  • Expert level of building parts/assemblies to engineering drawings.

  • Welding to a high quality.

  • Measuring and marking out plate and sections for cutting, shaping and drilling.

  • Adherence to all Health & Safety policies and procedures.


Qualifications & Experience


  • Confident plater or fabricator.

  • Ideally apprentice trained or relevant qualifications.

  • Confident MIG Welder.

  • Experience operating fabrication machinery.

  • Must have worked within a heavy steel industry.

  • Confident working from engineering drawings from scratch.

  • NVQ Level 3 or City and Guilds in Fabrication and Welding or Plating would be expected.
