Job summary

Sovereign Network Group in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced Plasterer Multi to join our Property Team for Newbury & Reading. This full-time role (40 hours/week) includes a company van and fuel card for travel between sites.

You will carry out plastering repairs across our properties, applying acoustic, insulating and fireproofing materials, fixing beads and coving, and ensuring work meets health and safety standards. A full UK driving licence is required.

Qualifications

• Strong health and safety mindset and practices.

Responsibilities

• Carry out plastering repairs in our properties as part of the Reactive Repairs Team.
• Apply acoustic, insulating and fireproofing materials bonded with plaster.
• Prepare corner beads, fix position and install cornices and coving.
• Measure, cut plasterboard, secure to walls and ceilings.

We're currently recruiting for an experienced/qualified Plasterer Multi to join our Property Team in our Newbury & Reading locality. As you'll spend a fair amount of time on the road we will provide you with a business use van and fuel card so you'll not be out of pocket.

What you'll do:

As a Plasterer you will carry out all forms of plastering repairs in our properties as part of our Responsive Repairs Team and elsewhere depending on demands.

• Applying and finishing acoustic, insulating and fireproofing materials bonded with plaster, plastic cement and similar materials.
• Preparing corner beads, and securing them in position.
• Fixing pre-cast cornices, panel mouldings, coving, ceiling centres and other plaster fittings and determining plasterboard layout, and installing insulation and vapour barriers.
• Plumbing and straightening corners, angles, wall and ceiling surfaces as well as creating decorative textures in finishing coats.
• Measuring, marking and cutting plasterboard, lifting and positioning panels, and securing them to walls, ceilings and battens.
• Covering joins and nail holes with wet plaster and sealing compounds, smoothing them using wet brushes and sand paper.
• Mixing and applying coats of plaster, cement and render to structures using trowels, and levelling and smoothing coats to uniform thickness.

What you'll need:

• You should have experience within a similar role, ideally from within a Residential/Housing sector and must be qualified to a minimum of NVQ level 2 OR have a minimum of 5 years proven track record working as a plasterer.
• Have a strong health and safety mindset with knowledge of health & safety best practices.
• Enjoy working as part of a team

This is a full time role, working 40 Hours per week.

Due to the requirement to travel, you must hold a full and current driving licence with a minimum of 1 years experience and have the ability to drive and take home a company van.

This role is subject to a satisfactory licence check and essential qualifications.
