Plant Technician
Swindon, Wiltshire
Full time • Permanent • Up to £50,000 OTE • 40 hours a week
If you are looking to be part of an award‑winning company, offering you a great career, our client is looking for an experienced Plant Technician who also has HGV experience and relevant qualifications.
Responsibilities
- Perform major and minor repairs to plant machinery, heavy goods vehicles, trailers and other vehicles as required.
- Carry out PDI works and attachment set‑up on plant machinery.
- Mobile repair and maintenance of plant machinery.
- Perform regular inspection and general preventive maintenance services according to machine hours and schedules.
- Maintain inventory in the service vehicle and keep the vehicle clean from oil spills and dust.
- Work with other departments, including the sales team, to ensure a quality and reliable service level is provided to customers.
- Work with repair teams to help diagnose and plan repairs for machines and vehicles.
- Maintain records of machines and vehicles that have been repaired or handled.
- Complete relevant documentation and paperwork as required, and provide warranty claims according to manufacturer requirements or escalating them to higher management.
- Provide in‑house training to recruits and trainees as required.
- Carry out your role with quality, compliance and health and safety always at the forefront of what you do.
Qualifications
- Level 3 (NVQ or City and Guilds or IMI Qualification) in HGV vehicle repair and maintenance.
- Plant machinery repair and maintenance to a minimum of Level 3.
- Ability to identify worn and faulty components in accordance with DVSA standards.
- Current, full UK driving licence for the relevant vehicle and machinery classes.
