We do What we Say.
That's why we need people like you to help us deliver on our promises. People who enjoy getting things done.

We have an opportunity for a skilled and motivated Workshop Plant Mechanic/Technician to join our growing team. If you take pride in keeping construction equipment running safely and efficiently - and want to be part of a team that values your expertise and contribution - this could be the perfect next step in your career.

The Role

As a Workshop Plant Mechanic/Technician, you'll play a key role in maintaining and repairing a wide range of plant assets and towable equipment, ensuring everything is in safe working order and operating at its best. You'll work both independently and alongside your colleagues to deliver high-quality service and support to our operational teams.

Here are some of the activities you'll be involved in:

  • Servicing, maintaining, and repairing a variety of construction plant assets and towable equipment.
  • Diagnosing faults using specialist tools and equipment, and carrying out effective repairs.
  • Performing regular inspections of machines and components to ensure safety and reliability.
  • Logging maintenance and inspection records digitally using a tablet, including compliance images.
  • Working closely with the workshop supervisor to plan and prioritise tasks.
  • Attending breakdowns on site when required, helping to minimise downtime and disruption.
  • Delivering excellent customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.

We would love to hear from you if

You are an experienced workshop or plant mechanic with a relevant NVQ Level 2 (or above) in Plant, Mechanical, or Heavy Vehicle Maintenance - or an equivalent qualification - and ideally a minimum of two to three years' hands‑on experience in a similar environment.

You’ll have solid experience in diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance, with a good understanding of health, safety, and compliance requirements in a workshop setting. Confidence in reading and interpreting technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics is important, as is familiarity with digital systems for recording inspections and maintenance activities.

You’ll be comfortable using a wide range of workshop tools and equipment and will take a proactive, safety‑first approach to your work. Experience with hydraulic, electrical, or electronic systems would be highly beneficial.

In addition, you may also bring manufacturer‑specific training or certifications, experience maintaining towable equipment, or a forklift or telehandler licence. Experience mentoring junior technicians and a working knowledge of lean or continuous improvement practices would also be an advantage.

A full UK driving licence is essential for this role.
