Plant Supervisor - Readymix

Join and lead our fantastic Readymix RMX team at our Lincoln RMX Tarmac site. As well as Lincoln, this site is easily accessible from Grimsby, Scunthorpe, Boston, Horncastle, Grantham, Sleaford, Stamford, Oakham, Rutland, Newark-on-Trent, Nottingham, Mansfield, Worksop, Retford and surrounding areas.

We are open to accepting applications from candidates who can offer strong supervisory / management experience from within a similar heavy industry; product training will be given to the successful candidate.

Main Responsibilities

• Lead and actively supervise the RMX operational plant.


• Delivery of toolbox talks - contractors


• Manage all aspects of daily production including operational costs and control stocks.


• Efficient manufacture of concrete, controlling standard deviation and cement contents.


• Drive operational performance through KPIs.


• Timely resolution of queries assigned to the sector


• Take responsibility for own safety and that of contractors, customers and business partners.


• Maintain site housekeeping to a high standard


• Batch concrete to meet customer needs whilst meeting internal quality requirements.


• Responsible for the budget, including both fixed and variable costs.

The role is a days role with overtime available to meet plant production needs.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate for the role of Plant Supervisor - Readymix will already have experience in plant operations and preferably within a Ready Mix / Aggregates environment with a working knowledge of production processes.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Working knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental policies.


• Full knowledge of Risk Assessments and Safe System of Work Systems.


• IOSH Managing Safely (preferred but will train).


• NVQ in fixed and mobile plant operations (preferred but will train).


• Able to actively identify and implement site and process improvements.


• Able to look for opportunities to identify customer needs


• Strong communication skills and ability to feed opportunities into customer services / sales.


• Confidence to effectively manage change and multitask.


• Evidence good time management skills.


• Enjoy working as part of a team and efficiently motivate others.
