Plant Operator - Anaerobic Digestion

Alecto Recruitment is providing an opportunity for a Plant operator to assist in the daily operations of an Anaerobic Digestion facility. The successful candidate will carry out minor maintenance, operate the plant and ensure the plant is running to maximum capacity.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Manage day-to-day operations of the Anaerobic Digestion plant, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant performance
  • Operate and monitor the plant via SCADA systems, maintaining optimal process control and output
  • Carry out visual inspections and fault-finding on plant and equipment, accurately logging data to assess plant health
  • Perform first-line maintenance activities, including safe isolation of equipment for routine servicing and minor repairs.
  • Feed the plant in line with prescribed operating regimes to maximise biogas production and overall efficiency.
  • Safely operate forklift trucks and site machinery in accordance with site procedures
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping, ensuring the site remains clean, organised, and compliant.
  • Actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance plant reliability, safety, and operational performance.
  • Participate in the review of risk assessments and safe systems of work, supporting ongoing health and safety improvements.
Skills and Qualification
  • A qualification in a mechanical or electrical engineering discipline would be ideal.
  • Takes full ownership of tasks to achieve the highest standards of work at all times.
  • AD site experience is desirable.
  • The ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
