Job summary

Job description

Location: Wissington CO₂ Plant

Department: Production & Mechanical Maintenance

Reports To: Facility Manager

As a Plant Operator at the Wissington CO₂ Plant, you will play a key role in maintaining the reliability, efficiency, and safety of the production site. You will oversee plant operations and perform mechanical maintenance to ensure uninterrupted, high-quality production within all environmental, safety, and cost parameters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure all site activities are carried out safely and in line with company and legal standards.
  • Monitor and adjust operating parameters to maintain optimal production rates and efficiency.
  • Respond quickly to alarms or process upsets, resolving issues safely and efficiently.
  • Oversee contractors on-site, including issuing work permits and providing induction training.
  • Perform routine operational tasks and quality checks.
  • Ensure maintenance work is properly risk‑assessed and executed safely.
  • Take primary responsibility for routine maintenance and repair of process equipment, supporting contractors as required.
  • Contribute to mechanical operations in alignment with budget, schedule, and purchasing processes.
  • Develop and oversee the mechanical maintenance program, including pressure equipment.
  • Coordinate daily tasks for the mechanical department.
  • Supervise and evaluate subcontractor technical services.
  • Manage spare parts for the department.
  • Identify technical anomalies and propose preventive actions to improve reliability and product quality.
  • Participate in mechanical standby/guard duties as required.
