Overview

FM Conway is recruiting for a passionate and driven Plant Operative Apprentice to join our dynamic Aggregate and Asphalt division! This is a fantastic opportunity to combine hands-on training with a nationally recognised manufacturing diploma. You'll gain the skills to become a multi-talented team member, from operating high-tech asphalt plants and mobile machinery to managing key weighbridge operations. This is a permanent, full time position based at our Aldershot Asphalt Plant in Hampshire.

Responsibilities

• Learning to safely and efficiently operate the asphalt plant, loading shovel and other mobile equipment such as telehandlers and skidsteers
• Using manufacturing techniques from your training to maximise internal systems, ensuring smooth and accurate order processing
• Conducting routine inspections and basic maintenance on plant and machinery, reporting defects accurately
• Committing to your Lean Manufacturing apprenticeship and completing all require qualifications, attending mandatory events and continuously developing knowledge, skills and behaviours
• Following all company HSE procedures and maintain high standards at all times
• Maintaining strong communication with colleagues and building positive working relationships

Requirements

• At least 4 GCSEs at Grade E/2 or equivalent, including Maths, English, and Science
• A Levels in Science or Engineering would be a bonus
• A full UK driving licence is highly desirable
