Job summary

Holcim is seeking a reliable Plant Operative to join the busy Sharpness asphalt plant team. The role is permanent and site-based, with full training across all plant areas, ideal for someone who enjoys practical work and teamwork.

You will gain hands-on experience across the full production process, including asphalt mixing, loading, and weighbridge duties, with training provided from day one. Monday to Friday 06:00-15:00, plus Saturdays 06:00-09:00.

Qualifications

• You have a positive attitude and are keen to learn in a practical working environment.
• Reliability and punctuality are essential to support a busy site.
• You work well as part of a team and are committed to health and safety on site.

Responsibilities

• Operate and support various areas of the asphalt production plant, including mixing, loading and weighbridge activities.
• Carry out routine plant checks, housekeeping and basic equipment maintenance.
• Load and unload materials safely while supporting daily plant operations.
• Follow health and safety procedures at all times to maintain a safe working environment.
• Support colleagues across the site and learn new processes through ongoing training.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a reliable and motivated Plant Operative to join a busy asphalt plant team at Sharpness. This is a permanent, site-based opportunity offering full training across all areas of the plant, making it ideal for someone who enjoys practical work, learning new skills, and being part of a supportive team.

You’ll gain experience across the full production process, including asphalt mixing, loading operations, and weighbridge duties, with ongoing training provided from day one. Attitude and willingness to learn are the most important qualities for this role.

Working hours are Monday to Friday, 06:00-15:00, plus Saturdays 06:00-09:00.
