Plant Manager | West Midlands | Full-Time

Wednesbury

£60,000 - £65,000 + Package

Package On Offer:
  • Car allowance of £400 per month (total £4,800 per year)
  • Performance bonus up to 20% (KPI based) (up to c. £12,000 – £13,000)
  • Pension: 7% employee, 7% employer

What You’ll Own

Safety, Health & Environmental Performance

  • Set and enforce site standards across health, safety, and environment
  • Drive incident reduction and behavioural safety improvements
  • Lead investigations, corrective actions, and disciplinary processes
  • Deliver zero permit breaches, zero discharges, and zero reportable emissions

Operational & Maintenance Performance

  • Plan and optimise treatment operations to meet service and compliance targets
  • Coordinate closely with maintenance and project functions to maximise uptime
  • Remove non-value-adding activity that increases risk or cost
  • Ensure the plant consistently meets operational KPIs

Cost Control & Financial Accountability

  • Control treatment, disposal, labour, and maintenance costs
  • Deliver against budget and monthly P&L targets
  • Identify efficiency improvements without compromising safety or compliance

Leadership & Continuous Improvement

  • Lead, develop, and performance‑manage a multi‑skilled site team
  • Set clear goals, improve engagement, and build accountability
  • Create a proactive, improvement‑focused site culture
What This Role Is For You If You…
  • Have experience managing operations or maintenance in regulated treatment environments
  • Are comfortable owning safety, compliance, and performance outcomes
  • Know how to lead teams in safety‑critical, high‑risk operations

What You’ll Need
  • IOSH Managing Safely (or equivalent) – essential
  • COTC Level 4 (hazardous waste treatment/transfer) – highly desirable
  • Strong knowledge of permits, licences, and risk assessments
  • Working knowledge of ISO standards (9001, 14001, 45001)
  • Confidence leading audits, investigations, and performance management
  • Strong organisational and leadership skills

A degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or a related discipline is advantageous but not essential.
