Job summary

Eaton Aerospace Group’s FMC division is seeking a Plant Manager for its Bedhampton, UK manufacturing facility, a 130 person site specialising in the design, assembly and testing of hydraulic and electric system components for the largest global OEMs within the commercial and military aerospace sectors.

The Plant Manager will have full responsibility for operational performance, safety, quality, delivery, cost, employee engagement, and financial results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• Minimum 7 years? experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Minimum of 3 years of supervisory/managerial experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for plant operations across manufacturing, materials, quality, environmental health and safety (EHS), human resources, and operational excellence.
• Drive improvements in safety, quality, productivity, delivery, cost and profitability.
• Develop and execute short- and long-term plant business plans to achieve objectives.
• Champion continuous improvement initiatives using Eaton systems and Lean Six Sigma.
• Ensure compliance with policies and all regulations.

Eaton Aerospace Group’s FMC division is seeking a Plant Manager, Bedhampton.

What you’ll do:

Eaton Aerospace Group is seeking a Plant Manager for its Bedhampton, UK manufacturing facility, an 130 person site specialising in the design, assembly and testing of hydraulic and electric system components for the largest global OEMs within the commercial and military aerospace sectors. The Plant Manager will have full responsibility for operational performance, safety, quality, delivery, cost, employee engagement, and financial results. The Plant Manager will provide strategic leadership across all functional disciplines, ensuring alignment with customer commitments, business objectives, and growth initiatives. The role requires a dynamic leader who will drive strategic execution, operational excellence, continuous improvement, and organizational capability to achieve growth.

• Provide overall leadership and direction for plant operations, including manufacturing, materials management, quality, environmental health and safety (EHS), human resources, and operational excellence.
• Foster a culture of employee engagement, accountability, continuous improvement, and high performance consistent with Eaton’s Culture Model.
• Drive operational performance by improving customer satisfaction, quality, productivity, delivery, inventory, cost, and profitability metrics
• Strong knowledge and experience with process tool
• Maintain full profit and loss accountability, monitoring financial performance, implementing corrective actions, and ensuring achievement of business objectives.
• Champion continuous improvement initiatives through the Eaton business System, Lean Six Sigma, Eaton Quality System, Balanced Scorecard, and other business operating processes.
• Ensure compliance with Eaton policies and all applicable government, financial, environmental, safety and labor regulations.
• Partner with division leadership to support strategic business decisions and enterprise-wide initiatives sharing best practices across Eaton operations.
• Represent Eaton within the local community, industry organizations, and customer engagements.
• Proven Ability to lead organizational change, drive performance improvements and deliver sustainable business results.
• Develop and execute short- and long-term business plans to achieve plant and division objectives including strategic plans, profit plants, organizational capability plans and forecasts.

Essential Functions:

• A. Manages and directs all operations activities to ensure completion of customer requirements.
• B. Assesses performance indicators, and takes appropriate actions, to ensure schedule, cost, and quality goals are met.
• C. Provides for prudent investment into training and development, capital equipment and technology development to assure organizational, manufacturing, product and market leadership.
• D. Assures policies, procedures, and other documentation are established to provide for consistent and professional operation of all organizational functions.
• E. Provides leadership and commitment in support of continuing improvements in quality, productivity and delivery performance.
• F. Supports product design organization through new product introduction phase to ensure customer product development and manufacturing delivery times are met.
• G. Assures that Environmental, Health, and Safety issues are addressed considering local regulations, Eaton policy, and good corporate citizenship.
• H. Develops and maintains innovative and effective cost reduction programs throughout operations.
• I. Evaluates operational performance of the site in order to facilitate performance management, merit promotions, job transfers, dismissals, commendations, etc.
• J. Develops budgets and resource plans, and monitors performance, to achieve product delivery and financial requirements.
• K. Coordinates and assists with corporate initiatives, participating in teams in order to drive best practices across Eaton Corp.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.

Skills:

• Knowledge of materials planning systems (MRP/ERP) requirements and order generation process logic.
• Understanding of Supply Chain Management operational concepts surrounding production planning, scheduling, purchasing, supplier selection, inventory control, logistics, stockroom operations, and shipping/receiving.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Process Variation Reduction (Six Sigma) concepts and tool sets as they relate to materials management.
• Understanding of manufacturing technologies and processes.
• Knowledge of financial concepts and techniques utilized to establish value propositions of operational changes.
• Ability to direct and lead cross-functional process improvement teams.
