SRG is recruiting an experienced Plant Manager to lead operations at a Lancashire site on a permanent basis. The role focuses on delivering safe, efficient performance, people leadership and driving continuous improvement across the site.

The successful candidate will have a proven manufacturing leadership background in chemical, process or related industries, with strong HSE knowledge and change-management capabilities to support business growth and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

  • Proven leadership experience in a manufacturing/chemical processing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental legislation and best practices.
  • Track record of driving productivity, quality and cost improvements.
  • Experience leading change in a complex operations site.

Responsibilities

  • Provide overall leadership for site operations, ensuring safe and efficient plant performance.
  • Manage and develop multidisciplinary teams to foster a high-performance culture.
  • Lead and promote Health, Safety and Environmental initiatives with regulatory compliance.
  • Drive continuous improvement focused on productivity, quality, cost reduction and performance.
  • Develop and implement change management strategies to support growth.
  • Monitor KPIs for safety, production, quality and maintenance.
  • Ensure resource planning meets demand and targets.
  • Lead investigations into incidents and implement corrective actions.

Job title: Plant Manager

SRG are currently recruiting for an experienced Plant Manager on a permanent basis, based in Lancashire. This is a key leadership position, responsible for driving operational excellence and leading continuous improvement initiatives across the site.

The successful candidate will be a proven manufacturing leader with experience managing plant operations within a chemical, process, or manufacturing environment. You will play a critical role in delivering business objectives through effective people management, operational efficiency, and change management programmes.

Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to)
  • Provide overall leadership and direction for site operations, ensuring safe, efficient and compliant plant performance
  • Manage and develop multidisciplinary teams, creating a high-performance and accountable culture
  • Lead and promote a proactive Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) culture, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and company requirements
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, quality, cost reduction and operational performance
  • Develop and implement change management strategies to support business growth
  • Monitor and improve key performance indicators (KPIs) relating to safety, production, quality and maintenance
  • Ensure effective resource planning to meet customer demand and operational targets
  • Lead investigations into incidents, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
Criteria
  • Previous experience in a similar role with leadership role within chemical/ COMAH manufacturing or a related process industry
  • Demonstrable experience leading teams in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge of HSE legislation, compliance and best practices
  • Experience leading and embedding organisational and operational change
  • Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong commercial awareness and problem-solving abilities.
