Mac Recruit are currently seeking a Plant Manager in Glasgow to lead an Energy Recovery Facility (ERF), working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Salary: £90,000 per year, plus car allowance and participation in an annual bonus scheme

Responsibilities
  • As Plant Manager, you will take full accountability for the ERF, leading a dedicated team to deliver operational excellence. Your key focus will be on safety, reliability, predictability, and availability, while fostering a culture of ownership, accountability, and responsibility.
  • Lead the ERF team in promoting a safety-first culture and act as the senior representative on site.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Environmental Management, and Quality standards, aligned with ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001.
  • Achieve plant availability, waste throughput, and energy production targets, reporting performance against objectives.
  • Build a culture of performance and continuous improvement, focusing on recruitment, development, and succession planning.
  • Take ownership of site P&L, preparing budgets, managing expenditures, analysing variances, and initiating corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across Commercial, PPM, Finance, HR, and SHEQS to support initiatives and meet contractual obligations.
  • Implement operational best practices and work with central teams to identify and deliver improvements.
  • Maintain legal and regulatory compliance, ensuring a consistent and integrated approach across the site.
Ideal qualifications
  • Extensive people management experience within a large technical department or multi-site environment.
  • Strong financial acumen, with experience running a P&L and managing budgets.
  • Practical experience implementing corporate management systems.
  • Senior management experience within power generation or a relevant process-driven environment.
  • Extensive contract management experience.
