Qualifications

Job Title: Plant Maintenance Engineer

Location: Derby area
Rotating Shifts: 2 nights every 8 days on the shift cycle
Pay Range: Up to £57k plus overtime
Contract Type: Contract to Permanent
Industry: Process and Chemicals Manufacturer

Our client is a large Global manufacturer with a global footprint. It is an established site with an established long‑serving engineering team. Staff retention is excellent. Training, development, and support are provided on a manufacturing site. You will help the site make high‑quality processed products.

We have a vacancy for a Mechanical Bias maintenance engineer to focus on plant and process maintenance areas.

Key Responsibilities – Plant Maintenance Engineer
  • Providing effective and efficient planned, preventative and breakdown maintenance to minimise losses to production.
  • Leading electrical and instrumentation repair, and working with the CMMS.
  • Diagnosis, resolution, and elimination of root causes of mechanical engineering faults.
  • Design, trial, and implementation of minor equipment modifications in support of increased performance.
  • Completion of all scheduled, planned corrective, reactive and improvement maintenance as allocated.
  • Contribution to the planning and implementation of allocated annual equipment overhauls.
Qualifications & Requirements – Plant Maintenance Engineer
  • Apprentice trained or NVQ level 3 in a mechanical engineering discipline in maintenance engineering.
  • Manufacturing industry experience, multi‑skilled with mechanical bias (ideal).
  • Fitting, fabricating and welding experience preferred.
  • Experience of pumps, valves, process equipment (ideal).
  • A proactive approach to fault finding, a commitment to continuous improvement and personal development.
