Job description
Overview

Plant Equipment/HGV Technician required in Westbury.

Reporting to the Workshop Controller and working as part of a friendly team, as a Plant Equipment/HGV Technician you will perform major and minor repairs to plant equipment, heavy goods vehicles, trailers and other vehicles as required. You will also carry out PDI works and attachment set-ups on plant equipment, mobile repair and maintenance, regular inspections and preventive maintenance, and maintain records and documentation.

Responsibilities
  • Performing major and minor repairs to plant equipment, heavy goods vehicles, trailers and other vehicles as required.
  • Carrying out PDI works and attachment set-up on plant equipment.
  • Mobile repair and maintenance of plant equipment.
  • Performing regular inspections and general preventive maintenance services according to machine hours and schedules.
  • Maintaining inventory in the service vehicle and ensuring cleanliness from oil spills and dust.
  • Working with other departments, including the sales team, to ensure a quality and reliable service level is provided to customers.
  • Working with repair teams to help diagnose and plan repairs for machines/vehicles.
  • Maintaining records of machines/vehicles that have been repaired or handled.
  • Completing relevant documentation and paperwork as required and providing warranty claims according to manufacturer requirements or escalating them to higher management.
  • Providing in-house training to recruits and trainees as required.
  • Carrying out your role with quality, compliance and health and safety always at the forefront.
Requirements
  • Qualified to IMI/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in either Plant Equipment or Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair, and ideally hold at least 1 to 2 years of practical experience post qualification.
  • A committed individual and a good team player capable of producing high-quality work in a busy workshop environment and motivated to work towards targets.
  • Current, full UK driving licence for the relevant vehicle and machinery classes.
