Job summary

Build Recruitment Limited is seeking a Plant Mechanic for a permanent, full-time role in Redruth, Cornwall. The role involves servicing, maintenance and repairs on a range of plant machinery in a busy workshop.

You will diagnose faults, carry out preventative maintenance, and work to high safety standards. The ideal candidate will have experience with heavy plant equipment and be reliable with good team skills. Salary £18–£21 per hour, Monday to Friday, with no regular weekends.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Plant Mechanic, Plant Fitter, HGV Mechanic, Agricultural Mechanic or similar.
• Strong mechanical knowledge and fault-finding skills.
• Experience working on heavy plant equipment is essential.
• Ability to diagnose faults and carry out repairs independently.

We are currently recruiting for a Plant Mechanic to join a well-established company based in Redruth, Cornwall. This is a permanent, full-time position working from a busy workshop, offering excellent rates of pay and the opportunity to join a stable and growing business.

The Role:

• Carrying out servicing, maintenance and repairs on a range of plant machinery and equipment
• Diagnosing mechanical faults and carrying out effective repairs
• Working on heavy plant and associated equipment
• Carrying out routine inspections and preventative maintenance
• Ensuring machinery is maintained to a high standard and kept safe and operational
• Using mechanical knowledge and diagnostic skills to identify and resolve faults
• Completing maintenance and repair paperwork where required
• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised workshop
• Ensuring all health and safety procedures are followed

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a Plant Mechanic, Plant Fitter, HGV Mechanic, Agricultural Mechanic or similar
• Strong mechanical knowledge and fault-finding skills
• Experience working on heavy plant equipment is essential
• Ability to diagnose faults and carry out repairs independently
• Good understanding of preventative and reactive maintenance
• Reliable, hardworking and able to work as part of a team
