  • Possess a clean driving licence.

Job description

We are currently seeking an experienced and talented Plant Fitter to join our high performing team.

REPORTING TO: Plant Manager

LOCATION: Based in our Head Office in Newry, Co Down

CONTRACT TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent

HOURS: Monday – Friday, with occasional weekend additional hours available.

Role Responsibilities
  • Complete service and maintenance for mechanical and non-mechanical plant and specialist equipment, following manufacture guidelines and company processes.
  • Ensure statutory compliance relating to heavy plant equipment.
  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance tasks and other precision-based maintenance.
  • Identify and capture machine damage, investigating and documenting, as appropriate.
  • Inspect new plant and equipment and sign off before use on site.
  • Ensure company fleet vehicles are always roadworthy and prepare for testing to MOT and NCT standards.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive service and maintenance records via logbooks and databases as required.
  • Work closely with the Plant Manager and Office & Logistics Manager to ensure they are aware of problems as they occur, working to solve problems quickly.
  • Work closely with and take direction from the Operator team, and support in ordering repair and/or spare parts, maintenance parts, assemblies, and consumables.
  • Maintain an inventory of plant tools, manuals, repair parts, assemblies and consumables for use in the workshop, ensuring all items are labelled correctly and stored safely.
  • Request purchase orders to be raised for parts for stock.
  • Act as a mentor to any junior employees or apprentices who are attached to the Plant Team, sharing knowledge and best practice.
  • Maintain excellent levels of housekeeping, ensure areas are free from waste and trip hazards.
  • Comply with applicable Safety, Environment, Health, and Waste Management policies and procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Additional information
  • Must have the ability to travel to place of work in Carnbane Industrial Estate in Newry.
  • Role is an in-person, on-site role.
  • May involve travel to our other sites across the Republic of Ireland
