Plant Fitter

Location: Redditch
Hours: Monday - Friday, 07:00-17:00
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary: Depending on experience

We are currently working with a growing construction and civil engineering business that is seeking an experienced Plant Fitter to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who takes pride in quality workmanship, reliability, and maintaining a high standard of plant and equipment performance.

The Role

As a Plant Fitter, you will be responsible for the repair, service, and maintenance of a wide range of plant machinery, small tools, and vehicles to ensure all equipment is safe, reliable, and ready for daily operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare oil, parts, tools and daily requirements before starting scheduled work.
  • Collect urgent equipment or parts from suppliers when required.
  • Service, repair and maintain:
  • 1‑10 tonne forward tipping dumpers (Thwaites, Terex)
  • 3‑25 tonne excavators (Hitachi, Doosan, Kubota)
  • Small tools (whackers, Stihl saws, poker units, breaker packs, sub pumps)
  • Road‑going vehicles (vans, pickups, trucks)
  • Rollers (Ammann, Bomag, Terex, Hamm)
  • Lifting accessories (block grabs, fork attachments)
  • Maintain and look after company equipment and vehicles.
  • Work independently and manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
What We're Looking For
Qualifications
  • Level 3 Plant Mechanics or Maintenance qualification (essential)
  • Full UK Driving Licence (essential)
  • CSCS Card (desirable)

  • Strong knowledge of plant maintenance and repair across a variety of machinery.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and respond quickly to changing demands.
  • Strong communication skills across all levels.
  • Highly reliable and capable of independent working.
  • Able to build and maintain strong relationships with external suppliers.
