A leading recruitment firm seeks an experienced Plant Technician to maintain and repair vehicles and machinery near Kidderminster. The ideal candidate will hold an NVQ Level 3 qualification and possess a full UK driving license. Qualifications

PLANT TECHNICIAN

Plant Fitter / Plant Technician / Plant Mechanic required for a great company near Kidderminster.

Location : Near Kidderminster

Salary of the Plant Fitter / Plant Technician / Plant Mechanic / Fitter / Diesel Mechanic / HGV Fitter / HGV Technician / Heavy Vehicle Mechanic : £42,000 - £50,000

Hours of work : 40 hours a week - Monday to Friday

As a Plant and HGV Technician, your role will be to keep our customers’ vehicles and machinery fully maintained and compliant to maximise uptime. The right candidate will be able to deliver an exceptional service and to the highest quality.

Responsibilities
  • Performing major and minor repairs to plant machinery as well as heavy goods vehicles, trailers and other vehicles as required.
  • Carrying out PDI works and attachment set up on plant machinery.
  • Mobile repair and maintenance of plant machinery.
  • Performing regular inspection and general preventive maintenance services according to machine hrs and schedules.
  • Maintaining inventory in the service vehicle and cleanliness from oil spills and dust.
  • Working with other departments, including the sales team to ensure a quality and reliable service level is provided to customers.
  • Working with repair teams to help diagnose and plan repairs for to machines / vehicles.
  • Maintaining records of machines / vehicles that have been repaired or handled.
  • Completing relevant documentation and paperwork as required and providing warranty claims according to manufacturer requirements or escalating them to higher management.
  • Providing in-house training to recruits and trainees as required.
  • Carrying out your role with quality, compliance and health and safety always at the forefront of what you d0.
Requirements

You will need to be level 3 (NVQ or City and Guilds or IMI Qualification) in HGV Vehicle Repair and maintenance or plant machinery repair and maintenance to a minimum of Level 3. What’s more, you will need the ability to identify worn and faulty components in accordance with the DVSA Standards and have a current, full UK driving license for the relevant vehicle and machinery classes.
