Job summary

Speedy Hire Plc in Erith is seeking a Plant Engineer to inspect, test, maintain, and repair plant and hire equipment. You will ensure work is completed safely and in line with Speedy's safety requirements, with a strong mechanical background and hands-on fault-finding across a busy depot.

You will work with Engineers, Drivers and Hire Desk to prioritise repairs while upholding our ESG commitments and depot operations.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical engineering background required.
• Practical experience repairing small engines and servicing plant equipment.
• Proven ability to diagnose and fault-find on mechanical systems.
• Experience in plant hire or similar engineering environment advantageous.
• Hands-on approach to diagnosing faults and resolving issues.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, fault finding, repairs and preventative maintenance on equipment.
• Coordinate with Drivers and Hire Desk to prioritise repairs and keep fleet safe and available.
• Support depot team and broader business unit to deliver ESG initiatives.
