Job description

Plant and Machinery Technician

Location: Portland, Weymouth, Dorset

Salary: up to £55,000 dependent on experience, plus bonus

Full-Time – 40 hours per week

Key Responsibilities

This role will see you responsible for maintaining all site machinery carrying out preventative planned inspections, helping to identify potential faults with machinery and escalating where necessary. You will need to have the ability to diagnose minor faults when they occur and carry out remedial repairs. Carry out routine servicing on all site machinery whilst following and maintaining all maintenance procedures. Maintain plant inspections schedules adhering to all health and safety guidelines. Completion of any relevant documentation and reporting to keep logs updated. Learn to operate the automated gantry system and take responsibility for the smooth running of the system during discharges.

The Ideal Candidate

You will need a relevant qualification (BTech/C&G/NVQ or similar) or comparable work experience in mechanical and electrical engineering role, ideally with hydraulics with at least 3 years of relevant industry experience. You need to have the ability to manage a busy work schedule and be able to regularly prioritise your job list according to urgency. You will need the confidence and initiative to be able to work alone and make decisions with a positive attitude. You will need to work well as a team and have excellent communication skills.
