Job summary

Rugby Borough Council is seeking a Planning Technical Officer to join their planning team. The role focuses on the technical processing of planning applications, validating information, and ensuring timely updates to the Council’s website in line with planning legislation.

• Interest in urban and rural planning; keen to learn and immerse yourself in the process.
• Excellent administrative skills with a strong eye for detail and accuracy.
• Strong communication, adaptability and the ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Register, check, validate and consult on planning applications using the Council’s planning software.
• Update the Council website in line with planning legislation and procedures.
• Provide technical support to Development Management, Major Projects & Regeneration, and Economic Development teams.
• Act as first point of contact for general planning queries and advise on planning permission needs.
