Job summary

A Midlands based Local Authority is looking for an experienced Planning Policy Team Leader on a 3-month contract, offering up to £60 per hour inside IR35. The ideal candidate will have a background in Local Authority, strong knowledge of national planning policy, and will mentor junior staff. Excellent communication skills and ability to work under tight deadlines are essential.

Qualifications

Overview

Planning Policy Team Leader - Midlands. Job Ref - 62066. Carrington West are delighted to be assisting this Midlands based Local Authority client with their search for an experienced Policy Team Leader. This is an initial 3 month contract position paying up to £60 per hour inside IR35.

Responsibilities

• Mentor a team of junior staff.
• Develop the broad content of the policies working toward the Local Plan.
• Work to tight deadlines with minimal supervision and prioritise daily workloads.
• Support the planning policy team in delivering policy projects and related initiatives.

Qualifications

• Experienced Planner with strong knowledge of national planning policy; Local Authority background is preferred.
• Degree qualified; masters preferred; MRTPI status or working toward it.
• Very strong knowledge of planning legislation and processes and excellent communication skills.
