Planning Policy Officer
Scale 4/5 Career Graded (£29,064 - £39,152) per annum
Full time – 37 hours per week

We have an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic, friendly and highly experienced planning policy team. You’ll be joining us at a pivotal stage in the Local Plan journey as we move towards the Publication Local Plan—an ideal chance to enhance your skills and broaden your experience in the planning sector. We will support your personal and professional development in the role.
This is a varied and rewarding role where you’ll play a key part in shaping the future of our area. Your work will include gathering evidence and helping to develop the Local Plan to adoption; assisting with consultations; monitoring policy progress; responding to national changes; and contributing to wider projects such as neighbourhood plans and providing planning policy observations on planning applications received by the council.
We’re looking for someone with:
A solid understanding of planning policy, legislation, and public sector challenges
Strong organisational skills and a proactive, outward-looking approach
The ability to work independently and collaboratively with colleagues, stakeholders, and residents
