We’re looking for a skilled, motivated Planning Policy and Land Charges Team Manager to lead our talented team at a pivotal moment. With our Local Plan review heading for submission in 2026 and adoption in 2027, you’ll play a central role in shaping how our communities evolve — balancing growth, sustainability, and great place‑making.

What you’ll be doing

• Lead and inspire the Planning Policy and Land Charges team.
• Drive the Local Plan through submission, examination, and adoption.
• Oversee Section 106 monitoring — ensuring contributions are secured and delivered.
• Support and guide the high‑performing Land Charges service.
• Advise and collaborate with Members, senior officers, and regional partners.
• Represent the council at committees, hearings, and examinations.

What we’re looking for

You’ll combine technical expertise with political awareness — comfortable leading projects that are both complex and high‑profile.

• ✅ Experience preparing and delivering Local Plans (ideally through examination).
• ✅ Degree in Town and Country Planning (or equivalent) and RTPI membership (or eligibility).
