A local government authority in Coalville is looking for a Planning Policy and Land Charges Team Manager. In this role, you will lead the submission of the Local Plan and manage a team while working closely with senior officers and elected Members. Ideal candidates will have expertise in planning policy and the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders. £52,413 - £56,687 + £4,140 car allowance (= £56,553 - £60,827pa)
As Planning Policy and Land Charges Team Manager, you’ll take the lead in delivering one of the council’s highest priorities: the successful submission, examination, and adoption of our new Local Plan. This is a role with genuine influence and variety. You’ll lead a capable and enthusiastic team of Planning Policy Officers, provide managerial support to our Land Charges service, and ensure that the council’s planning obligations and infrastructure funding are managed effectively through Section 106 agreements. You’ll work closely with the Head of Planning and Infrastructure and senior officers, liaising with elected Members and external partners to ensure that planning policy reflects the council’s vision for sustainable growth. You’ll also represent the council at committee meetings, hearings, and examinations, often as the public face of our planning policy work. Your leadership will help shape not only the Local Plan but the wider direction of planning and growth in the district. It’s a role that combines technical planning expertise with strategic thinking, political awareness and people management.
