Job summary

Waverley Borough Council is seeking a planning professional to help shape the district's future. You will contribute to preparing the new Local Plan and support neighbourhood planning efforts while working with an experienced team.

The role offers hybrid working with some home-based days after induction, depending on business needs. We are looking for a candidate with a degree in town and country planning and a keen interest in the built and rural environment.

Qualifications

  • Degree in town and country planning required.
  • Interest in built and rural environment and neighbourhood planning.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative Planning Policy team.

Responsibilities

  • Support preparation of the new Local Plan.
  • Assist in neighbourhood planning initiatives and policy development.
  • Collaborate with Planning Policy Team to deliver key milestones.

It’s an exciting time for the Waverley Planning Policy team as we have started the preparation of a new Local Plan and we are looking for a motivated person to join us. If you have an interest in the built and rural environment and would like to play an active role in preparing it, and support the preparation of neighbourhood plans, then we would be delighted to receive an application from you.

This is an agile post which allows the holder to work from home for part of the week after an initial period of induction at the discretion of their line manager depending on the business needs of the service.

This post is a full-time role. However, all applications will be considered.
