Job summary

The Planner Jobs Redactive Publishing Limited is recruiting a Planning Officer to join our planning team in Broxtowe. You will assess a diverse range of planning applications and support sustainable development.

Qualifications

  • Hold a degree or equivalent qualification in Town and Country Planning that provides eligibility for membership of the RTPI.
  • Knowledge of development management, the planning application process, and relevant planning legislation, policy and guidance.
  • Be able to manage and prioritise a varied caseload, meet deadlines, and maintain a thorough and consistent approach.
  • Exercise sound professional judgement and produce balanced, objective and defensible recommendations.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing, with applicants, agents, residents, elected members, colleagues and partner organisations.
  • Be able to work independently, use initiative and contribute positively to a busy and supportive planning team.
  • Be confident using digital planning systems, mapping tools, databases and Microsoft Office applications to manage cases and maintain accurate records.
  • Hold a valid driving licence or be able to make suitable alternative arrangements to carry out the duties of this designated car-user post.

Job description

We are looking for a motivated Planning Officer to join our planning team and play an active role in assessing a diverse range of planning applications.

What you need to know

  • This is a permanent, full-time position working 37 hours per week.
  • Shortlisted candidates will be invited to a formal interview and may also be asked to complete a scenario-based exercise.
