A regional council in England seeks a committed planning officer to manage applications and provide robust planning advice. This role includes working independently and within a team to maintain the highest standards. Candidates should hold a relevant degree and possess excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. We want to appoint an enthusiastic and committed planning officer to join our skilled Planning Development Management Service which deals with a wide range of planning projects with a number of competing constraints including Green Belt, flooding, National Landscape and a significant number of Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas.
It is an excellent time to join Guildford, as we have a keen focus on preserving the Boroughs heritage and landscape whilst ensuring that the Borough provides high quality homes and access to employment. You will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of application types including householder applications and small minors. You may also have the opportunity to assist Principal Planning Officers on major projects and support team leaders in ensuring developments benefit the Borough and help maintain it as an attractive place to work and live.
