Job summary

Trostan Dene Ltd in Blackburn seeks a Planning and Logistics Manager to lead end-to-end planning, inventory control and warehouse operations within a well-established manufacturing business. You will collaborate with Commercial, Production Operations, Suppliers and Distribution teams to optimize performance and uphold ISO standards.

You will develop the production schedule, oversee materials planning, improve stock accuracy and drive continuous improvement through strong leadership and analytics

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage the production schedule optimizing material, resource and machine capacity.
• Oversee materials planning and inventory control to meet production plans and KPIs.
• Lead warehouse and logistics operations ensuring stock accuracy and timely delivery.
• Collaborate with Commercial, Production Operations, Suppliers and Distribution teams to improve performance and customer experience.

Role Overview-

Part of the leadership team, the Planning and Logistics Manager is accountable for leading end to end planning, inventory management & Warehouse operations. You will collaborate with Commercial, Production Operations, Suppliers & Distribution teams to drive optimal performance & achieve excellent levels of customer experience, contributing to the overall achievement of business KPIs. To operate within the guidelines of ISO standards.

Production Planning

• Accountable for developing the operational schedule; optimising available materials, resources & machine capacity, resulting in optimal production efficiency & delivering excellent levels of customer experience
• Working with Operational teams; monitor and review performance to drive adherence to the plan. Identifying opportunities and adapt the operational schedule where required

Materials & Inventory Management

• Oversee the planning & control of raw materials to support production schedules
• Ensure optimal inventory levels, balancing availability with KPI targets
• Accountable for driving stock accuracy, ERP / WMS disciplines & strong stock control (obsolescence and slow-moving items)

Skills & Experience-

You will proven leadership experience across Production Planning, Inventory Management, Warehouse & Logistics functions within a manufacturing environment. With a mindset which wants to optimise processes & drive continuous improvement, you will be a confident people manager who experience in developing teams & individual performance. Highly analytical, numerate & results orientated with strong IT skills.
