Job summary

Soben, now part of Accenture’s Infrastructure and Capital Projects practice, seeks a Planning Engineer to deliver planning across the full project lifecycle. You will drive integrated schedules, baseline baselines, and progress tracking using Primavera P6.

Collaborating with project teams, you will apply EVM and change control, support NEC3 contractual processes, and optimise delivery for major industry projects in a global, digital environment.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering planning across the full project lifecycle.
• Strong knowledge of Primavera P6 scheduling and CPM logic.
• Familiarity with EVM and change control processes.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implemented, and managed integrated project schedules using Primavera P6.
• Create baseline programmes aligned with scope, milestones, and contracts.
• Monitor progress, update schedules with actual data, forecast completion.
• Perform critical path analysis and identify risks and recovery options.
• Produce planning reports, narratives, and dashboards for teams and clients.
• Apply EVM principles to measure performance and cost/schedule control.
• Conduct schedule risk analysis and assess contingencies.
• Collaborate with managers, commercial, and site teams for alignment.
• Manage schedule changes with robust change control and audit trails.
• Support NEC3 contract administration with planning compliance.
• Forecast resource needs and expenditure to optimise utilisation.
• Lead progress meetings and promote planning best practices.

As a Planning Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive planning and scheduling services across the full project lifecycle, ensuring projects were completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Developed, implemented, and managed integrated project schedules throughout the complete project lifecycle using Primavera P6.
• Created and maintained logic-driven baseline programmes, ensuring alignment with project scope, milestones, and contractual requirements.
• Monitored project progress, updated schedules with actual performance data, and forecast completion dates and remaining durations.
• Performed critical path analysis and identified programme risks, delays, and opportunities, recommending effective mitigation and recovery strategies.
• Produced regular planning reports, schedule narratives, and performance dashboards for project teams, senior management, and clients.
• Applied Earned Value Management (EVM) principles to measure project performance, monitor productivity, and support cost and schedule control.
• Conducted schedule risk analysis to evaluate programme contingencies and assess potential impacts on project delivery.
• Collaborated closely with project managers, commercial teams, contractors, site management, and engineering disciplines to ensure programme alignment and successful execution.
• Managed programme changes through robust change control processes, maintaining a clear audit trail of schedule revisions and their impacts.
• Supported NEC3 contract administration by ensuring planning and scheduling activities complied with contractual requirements.
• Performed resource loading, expenditure tracking, and forecasting to optimise resource utilisation and improve project performance.
• Facilitated project progress meetings, challenging programme assumptions and driving corrective actions where necessary.
