Job summary

Osborne Richardson has an interesting opportunity for a Planning Ecology Officer to join a busy local authority in the East Midlands on a 12-week contract. You will assess environmental impacts of proposed planning applications, provide pre-planning advice, and manage discharge of conditions, compiling reports for the Planning Department.

Occasionally you may visit sites and will liaise with planners, solicitors, agents, applicants and the public on biodiversity issues.

Responsibilities

• Assess environmental impacts of proposed planning applications
• Provide pre-planning advice
• Agree discharge of conditions and compile responses/reports for Planning Department
• Carry out site visits to assess ecological assessments
• Liaise and negotiate with planners, solicitors, agents, applicants and the public on biodiversity issues
• Advise Planning Management on planning applications with Biodiversity Net Gain
• Support Biodiversity and Nature Recovery Lead Officer and Planning Policy team with Local Nature Recovery Strategy input
