Job summary

Trowers & Hamlins is seeking an Associate in Planning for Manchester. Working in a national practice, you will handle complex planning applications, advise on Section 106/278 agreements, and help shape strategic planning advice for clients in private and public sectors.

You will develop your practice while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team across London, Exeter and Manchester, with opportunities to lead on significant matters and advance career development.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to take on responsibility and manage files independently.
• Qualified solicitor with up to 5 years' planning experience.
• Strong academic record.
• Exceptional technical legal skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Unwavering client focus with superior service delivery.
• Sharp commercial awareness and strategic thinking.

Responsibilities

• Handle complex planning applications with legal reviews and strategic advice.
• Draft and negotiate Section 106 and Section 278 agreements.
• Provide general planning advice for major development schemes.
• Assist planning authorities and providers in CPO work.
• Manage enforcement issues and public inquiry work.
• Conduct planning due diligence on commercial and corporate transactions.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships and participate in marketing initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with Lexcel procedures and support junior colleagues.
