Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Planner/Transport Manager to oversee and enhance our transportation operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing a small fleet of 17 HGV vehicles, ensuring compliance with environmental laws, and coordinating with various stakeholders to optimize transportation planning. This role requires a strong background in urban planning within the aggregates and waste management industry. A CPC holder with good experience in driver management.

Duties
  • Fleet compliance and all legal requirements to ensure all vehicles are roadworthy and legal.
  • Schedule maintenance inline with manufacturers schedules and current timetables.
  • Planning of daily deliveries and collections inline with customer expectations.
  • Manage Drivers daily schedules, licences, hours and prevent any violations.
  • Take orders and add to delivery/collection system.
  • Deal with customer queries on the phone or by email.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations on project progress, findings, and recommendations.
Skills
  • Knowledge of environmental law as it pertains to transportation projects.
  • Excellent report writing skills for clear communication of findings and recommendations.
  • Multi-task with compliance, drivers, orders and enquiries.
  • Familiarity with contracts related to construction and transportation planning.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Effective communication skills for collaboration with diverse teams and stakeholders.
