Job description

As a Planner in Area 7, you will play a key role in supporting the Senior Planner by contributing to the creation, monitoring, and reporting of all relevant project programmes. Your responsibilities will include ensuring that all schedules are up to date, tracking progress, and providing accurate reports to facilitate informed decision-making. You will work closely with the team to ensure that project milestones are met efficiently and that any risks or delays are identified and managed promptly, supporting the successful delivery of our highway's projects.

Key Responsibilities & Requirements
  • Assist in developing, managing, and updating project programmes, ensuring that schedules and delivery dates are accurate and reflect any changes.
  • Provide expert advice and support to both clients and internal teams, helping to address queries and maintain high standards of service.
  • Track progress, prepare periodic reports, and analyse data to support informed decision-making and meet client and contract requirements.
  • Coordinate resources, including labour, plant, materials, and supply chain, while ensuring compliance with safety, traffic management, and regulatory standards.
  • Maximise productivity through efficient resource programming, reviewing works orders for compliance, and seeking innovative ways to reduce wasted time and costs.
  • Handle works orders, prepare sites for programming, and carry out any additional duties required by the Senior Planner or wider business.

    Competent use of IT systems and packages.

  • Advanced use of the Microsoft Office suite (in particular Excel), plus other tools/systems defined by the project or client.
  • Experience of planning and coordination.
  • Knowledge of Highways Maintenance contracts & Traffic Management operations.

This position offers a competitive salary and overtime. The standard hours of work are 37.5 hours, Monday - Friday.
