Job summary

MTR Partnership in Greater Manchester is seeking an experienced Planner to analyse construction methodologies, liaise with clients, and prepare tender programmes. You will attend client interviews, update master programmes, identify risks, champion best practice with the Planning team, and have the opportunity to progress to Senior Planner in a supportive, award-winning organisation.

The role is office-based with occasional site visits to projects; you will need IT literacy and experience using

Qualifications

  • Experience in planning roles for building contractors on significant projects.
  • Willingness to commute to Greater Manchester offices and sites.
  • Proficiency with planning software and IT literate.
  • Ability to liaise with clients and their representatives on planning matters.

Responsibilities

  • Analyse construction methodologies looking for areas of improvement.
  • Liaise with the Client and their representatives on planning matters.
  • Prepare tender programmes.
  • Attend client interviews and meetings explaining programmes and methodology.
  • Prepare master programmes, update progress and forecast completions.
  • Identify and mitigate risk while considering Health, Safety and Environmental factors.
  • Work with the Planning team to identify and champion Best Practice.

Job description

The Company:

We are working with a leading building contractor who are responsible for building a number of the most iconic buildings in Greater Manchester. They have a very approachable and successful senior management team, are key delivery partners for a number of blue-chip clients and are part of a highly successful and profitable construction group. They are a part of a large Construction Group but still have the feel of a smaller family business where employees are valued and supported. They are cash-rich, make good margins on their projects, have an excellent supply chain that they pay promptly and treat with respect, staff turnover is low as people enjoy working there.

The Role:
  • Analyse construction methodologies looking for areas of improvement.
  • Liaise with the Client and their representatives on planning matters.
  • Prepare tender programmes.
  • Attend client interviews and meetings where you will explain programmes and methodology.
  • Prepare master programmes, updating progress and forecasting completions.
  • Identify and mitigate risk whilst ensuring Health, Safety and Environmental considerations are taken in to account.
  • Work with the Planning team to identify and champion Best Practice.
You:

To be successful in this role you will need to have worked in a Planning role for a building contractor previously on significant projects similar to those described above.

You will be based in or be able to commute to their office and projects in Greater Manchester.

IT literate with experience using specialist planning software.
