Job description
Overview

The Planner will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and improving project programmes across a range of civil engineering disciplines. Working closely with operational managers, design partners, suppliers, and delivery teams, the Planner will help ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with client expectations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create, update, and manage programmes for multiple projects.
  • Collaborate with commercial and delivery teams to ensure programmes align with contract requirements.
  • Identify, assess, and manage project risks.
  • Ensure compliance with company, client, and legislative policies.
  • Support continuous improvement by identifying and implementing innovative solutions.
  • Promote a culture focused on safety, wellbeing, and sustainability.
  • Build strong working relationships across teams to support efficient project delivery.
Skills & Experience

Proven experience in planning within the construction or civil engineering sector (e.g., structures, highways, rail, or infrastructure).

Strong knowledge of planning principles, NEC contracts, and construction methodologies.

Proficiency in planning software (MS Project, Asta Powerproject, or Primavera P6).

Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to plan from first principles and adapt to changing priorities.

Qualifications

Degree, diploma, or equivalent experience in Construction or Civil Engineering.

Working towards or holding professional membership (e.g., ICE).

Valid CSCS card.
