Overview

Position: Planner

Location: Ilkeston, Derbyshire. Some site visits may be required

Salary Guide: £35-50k+ (DOE) and benefits

Our client is a Main/Principal Contractor within the Water, Industrial, MOD, and Power Sectors. This includes all aspects of New Build, Refurbishment, Civil Engineering and MEICA Projects.

They have extensive experience in these areas of construction and aim to galvanise the design teams, subcontractors and supply chain to ensure projects are carried out safely, within programme, to budget and to the highest quality. They emphasise integrity, competency, transparency and openness with clients and the supply chain.

The Role
  • Work in close liaison with the Project Managers and project site leads to implement and maintain programme management scheduling and controls.
  • Manage schedules from a programme perspective, considering the business unit programme of work, Framework partners and sub-contractors.
  • Support project managers through provision of project control, planning, administration and reporting.
  • Demonstrate determination and a desire to succeed, with opportunities for career progression.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Experience using P6 and Microsoft Project is essential
  • Commercial astuteness and budget control management is advantageous
  • Commercial forecasting and revenue reporting is a distinct advantage
  • Results-focused with ability to work under own initiative
  • Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written
  • Ability to produce clear and concise project reports
  • Experience managing a portfolio or complex programme schedules
