A leading engineering firm in the United Kingdom is seeking a Senior Planner to lead project planning for major rail infrastructure projects. The role requires significant experience in planning complex infrastructure, proficiency in NEC contract processes, and advanced technical planning skills. The ideal candidate will collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure project schedules are effectively maintained. You will also be expected to support the overall business planning requirements of the organisation through the proper resourcing of plans under your control. As a Senior Planner you will utilise your experience and expertise to support improvement activities and ensure best practice is identified and implemented. You will also help mentor and coach more junior planners within the planning team.
HS2 has awarded several railway systems contracts, valued at over £4 billion, for the design, supply, construction, testing & commissioning, and maintenance of the route between London and Birmingham. Siemens Mobility are working in a 50:50 joint venture with Costain. The HV package will have staff peaking between 125 to 175 full‑time employees (FTE). As a senior member of the planning function you will lead the project planning responsibilities on a package or phase of a complex turnkey infrastructure project. You will be a key member of the project delivery team, supporting and being supported by the Head of Planning.
