Job description
Overview

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Full-Time Planner to join our busy and energetic team. This role plays a key part in helping us support growth across our region, deliver safe and compliant connections, and keep our customers at the heart of everything we do.

Our values guide everything we do. Together, we will build trust, do the right thing, and always be exploring. Anglian Water’s Integrated Maintenance Repair and Development Services (IMRDS) deliver repairs to our water network, supporting our ambitious leakage targets. Currently we also lay new or diversion water mains, as well as connections to new or existing developments. Developer Services helps customers and developers connect to our water network from single homes to large‑scale sites. Our planning team ensures every connection is safe, compliant, and delivered on time. You’ll be joining a supportive and collaborative team that takes pride in providing an excellent customer experience.

What will you be doing as a Planner? If you haven’t been a Planner before, don’t worry – we’ll provide all the training you need to succeed, delight our customers, and grow your career should you wish to. We’re more interested in your attitude, motivation, and willingness to learn than in previous planning experience.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure all customer communications are positive, constructive, and customer‑focused, with decisions made commercially.

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to prioritise tasks and allocate resources effectively to deliver right‑first‑time outcomes.
  • Reduce downtime through proactive planning and communication.
  • Ensure compliance with planning processes, quality standards, and regulatory requirements, enabling safe, compliant, and efficient planning for all connections.
  • Develop and optimise connection schedules aligned with regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels with all stakeholders.
  • A little bit about your skills, experience and behaviours…

  • Experience in one of the following areas: customer service, operational processes, or scheduling (preferable but not essential).
  • Proven customer service skills, with excellent interpersonal, analytical, and communication abilities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong prioritisation and decision‑making skills.
  • Able to show initiative working independently or as part of a team.
  • Highly flexible, organised, and confident in managing tasks.
  • Competent IT skills and good keyboard abilities.

If you’re looking for a new challenge or an opportunity to develop your skills within a supportive, dynamic and collaborative team, we’d love to hear from you.
