Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within construction, refurbishment, or facilities management.
  • Experience in Defence, secure environments, or public sector frameworks is desirable.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects across geographically dispersed sites.
  • Eligibility for Security Clearance (SC) is essential.

Purpose of Role

Vinci Facilities is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our Defence sector team, supporting a wide portfolio of refurbishment and new-build projects across the MOD Estate

Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key commercial role within a secure, mission-critical environment, delivering high-quality facilities solutions that directly support UK Defence infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Provide full commercial support across refurbishment, maintenance, and new-build projects.
  • Prepare cost plans, estimates, valuations, and cost reports in line with contract requirements.
  • Manage subcontract procurement, contract administration, and payments.
  • Monitor project budgets, forecasts, and financial performance, ensuring cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities.
  • Work closely with project managers, site teams, clients, and MOD stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with contract terms, governance, and Defence-sector protocols.
  • Support final account preparation and negotiation.

Essential Qualifications / Skills

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within construction, refurbishment, or facilities management.
  • Experience working within Defence, secure environments, or public sector frameworks (desirable).
  • Strong commercial acumen with excellent analytical and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects across geographically dispersed sites.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach.
  • A degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Professional membership (RICS or working toward it) is an advantage.
  • Eligibility for Security Clearance (SC) – essential.
