Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council is recruiting a Placements Officer to support high-quality care placements for children in care. You will secure, coordinate and monitor placements, working with social workers, providers and partner agencies to ensure safety, suitability and cost-effectiveness.

The role requires experience in social care or related settings, strong negotiation and decision-making skills, and the ability to work in fast-paced environments.

Qualifications

• Experience in social care, commissioning, placement finding or related setting.
• Ability to evidence strong negotiation skills, effective decision-making and experience of working in fast paced environments.
• Willingness to challenge poor practice and support colleagues and providers.
• Dynamic, solution focused and committed to achieving positive outcomes for children.

Responsabilités

• Securities, coordinates and monitors placements for children in care.
• Works closely with social workers, providers and partner agencies to ensure placements are safe, suitable and cost-effective.
• Ensures placements respond to assessed needs and comply with statutory duties, policies and procedures.
