Cummins Inc. is seeking an enthusiastic Quality student to join the Operational Excellence team in Wellingborough. The placement offers hands-on exposure to how a major global organization operates, building expertise in quality and process improvement.

Starting Summer 2027, the role requires onsite work for 3 days per week, with the need to travel or relocate to the location. You will work on defined projects, interact with OEMs and distributors, and contribute to investigations and containment

Qualificações

• Pursuing a Bachelor or Master’s degree in Engineering or Business-related subjects.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Excellent communication and time-management skills with attention to detail.

Responsabilidades

• Develop skills to manage small portions of well-defined and challenging projects.
• Support customer engine’s failure investigations and communicate with OEM & distributors account teams.
• Coordinate the return of failed parts to suppliers for analysis and containment activities.
• Serve as a support resource on projects and assist in tracking issues and status.
• Document and share team learnings with other teams and monitor project status with the Project Manager.
• Maintain project notes, databases and records, and report status to the Project Manager.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Quality student to join our team specializing in Quality for our Operational Excellence department in Wellingborough. During your placement with us, you will learn how a major global organization operates, gaining the tools and exposure you will need to become an expert in the industry and power your potential!

Starting Summer 2027. The requirements are to be onsite for 3 days per week so you will need to be able to travel or relocate to the location on your own behalf.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

• Develop skills to manage small portions of well-defined and challenging projects and actively support customer engine’s failure investigations.
• Communicate with internal Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) & Distributors Account Teams regarding information supporting failures.
• Working with external suppliers and coordinate the return of failed parts back to the supplier for analysis detailing findings and containment activity to internal OEM & Distributors Account Teams.
• Serve as a support resource on projects and work assignments and assists in identifying, tracking, and working with others to resolve project issues.
• Helps monitor and communicate project status to project team, documenting and sharing team learnings with other teams.
• Maintain project notes, databases, and other records; monitors measures and communicates with Project Manager on status of specific projects and assignments.

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

• We are looking for a wide range of applicants studying towards a Bachelor or Master's degree from across all Engineering & Business-related subjects
• Good Knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Good communication & time management skills, attention to detail, ability to multi-task and stay organized.
• Be a team player as well as be able to work proactively and independently with good analytical and problem-solving skills.
