We are looking to recruit a Place Programme Manager to a position available within the Community Engagement team, located in the Town Hall in Preston. There will be a requirement for the postholder to dedicate time to work from the Place Team Office, located at Fulwood Leisure Centre, whilst hosting meetings and community engagement events at various locations across the city.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead on the development of the place-based partnership work in Preston, embedding systems leadership and collaborative community development, to positively influence system transformation around active lives. The role will require the postholder to manage a ‘Place Team’ made up of internal and external colleagues, to work in the community with organisations and residents to identify locally led priorities around physical activity, to address health inequalities and provide opportunities for residents to lead a healthier lifestyle.

A key part of this role will be to work closely with partners such as Sport England, Active Lancashire, Integrated Care Board, the Health & Wellbeing Partnership and other external and internal partners, to co-produce a health & wellbeing strategy for the city, whilst ensuring the place programme is delivered effectively. We are seeking a well‑organised, enthusiastic individual who has excellent problem‑solving skills and has experience of managing teams of industry professionals to deliver a comprehensive place‑based scheme of work. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently, have good reporting and presentation skills and thrive on developing relationships with multiple stakeholders.
