A community creative organization is seeking a Place Director to lead place-based projects throughout the UK and Ireland, with a specific focus on Scotland. The successful candidate will be responsible for securing funding to promote everyday creativity that benefits community wellbeing. This role also involves maintaining essential relationships with government and funding bodies. The position is home-based in Scotland and offers a salary of £48,900 per year.
Creative Lives is currently looking to recruit a Place Director to lead our place-based work across the UK and Ireland, and to be our lead officer in Scotland.
Creative Lives is a registered charity that was established in 1991. We champion community and volunteer-led creative activity, and work to improve opportunities for everyone to be creative. In particular, we celebrate and promote people expressing themselves creatively with others, recognising the benefits this can bring.
This role involves developing new place projects, and securing funding (in partnership with local authorities and other partners) to ensure that everyday creativity is recognised, supported and valued as being vital to community wellbeing. The role will strengthen local cultural infrastructure and improve the environment in which everyday creativity can flourish, while also generating income to ensure the sustainability of Creative Lives.
The post-holder will also be Creative Lives’ designated lead officer in Scotland, responsible for maintaining relationships with Government, funders, policymakers, partners and other key stakeholders in Scotland, including Creative Scotland.
Salary: £48,900 per year
Location: Home-based (Scotland)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
