IR35: Outside IR35 (Contract)

Our client requires a Piping Designer to support water infrastructure projects on a contract basis in Manchester.

Role Purpose

Provide piping design and 3D modelling support on water industry projects, delivering coordinated, constructible, and maintainable designs using Revit within a multi‑disciplinary engineering environment.

Job Role Responsibilities
  • Produce 3D models and General Arrangement drawings using Revit.
  • Design and layout wet and dry well pumping stations, concrete pump chambers, and ductile iron and epoxy‑coated carbon steel pipework.
  • Design valves, pipe support systems, and integrate vendor equipment packages into plant layouts.
  • Model access platforms, stairs, handrails, and maintenance accessways in line with client and industry standards.
  • Participate in Access, Lifting & Maintenance (ALM) reviews.
  • Coordinate with civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical disciplines to ensure clash‑free models.
  • Maintain drawing registers and ensure documentation complies with company and client standards.
Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a Piping Designer within the Water Industry.
  • Strong Revit experience in a 3D design environment.
  • HNC in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Experience with wet and dry well pumping stations.
  • Experience with ductile iron and epoxy‑coated carbon steel pipe systems.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Navisworks.
  • Understanding of pipe supports, plant layout, and equipment access requirements.
  • &IDs and equipment data sheets.
  • Experience integrating vendor packages into designs.
  • Knowledge of relevant piping codes, standards, and health & safety requirements.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills.
