Job summary

Hussmann Corporation, a global leader in commercial refrigeration equipment, seeks a skilled pipefitter to read drawings, cut and braze piping, and assemble components on the production floor in Newry, UK. The role requires mechanical aptitude, basic math, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

You will contribute to Lean and safety initiatives, support multiple production lines, and collaborate with team members to maintain quality and efficiency.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and interpret an application legend and piping schematic.
• Mechanical aptitude and basic math skills.
• Must be able to read a tape measure.
• 3 years of industrial piping experience.
• Knowledge of HDR drawings.
• Prior plumbing, HVAC, or refrigeration systems experience preferred.
• Experience driving a forklift, utility cart, and motorized jack a plus.
• Must understand refrigeration flow systems and work with minimal supervision.
• Flexible and available for overtime as production requires.

Job Description

Layout, fit, and assemble piping and tubing for refrigeration equipment.

Responsibilities

• Ability to read and understand mechanical/piping drawings and applications legend for circuit and parts identification
• Utilize hand and power tools (pipe cutter, ratcheting, standard wrenches)
• Measure and cut piping to exact length
• Braze joints and fittings using the correct technique including iron copper
• Must be able to apply significant torque with hand tools throughout the entire work day. (Wrenches, ratcheting tools, channel locks, etc.)
• Work effectively and communicate often with team members
• Observe and follow safety rules and regulations.
• Support Lean Initiatives through 5S, Lean, and Quality initiatives, etc.
• Perform other duties as assigned, to include working on other production lines

Additional Information

Physical Capabilities Based on Daily Work Schedule of 5-day work week, 10-hour shift:

Sitting - 6 - 8 Hours. Walking 1 -2 Hours. Standing- 1 - 2 Hours. Lifting 10 – 15 lbs., Bending Occasionally, Climbing Rarely, Crawling Rarely, Reaching Frequently, Squatting Occasionally. Carrying 10 – 15 lbs., Twisting Frequently in sitting position, Range of Motion - Full range of motion.
