Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Install UPP and steel fuel pipework to engineering specifications.
  • Inspect, test and maintain fuel storage and distribution systems.
  • Diagnose and repair faults on tanks, pipework and fuel systems.

Crown Oil Environmental is looking for an experienced fuel‑industry engineer or pipefitter to join our nationwide team. Whether you’re already a pipefitter or a field engineer from the fuel sector with pipework experience looking to step into a pipefitting role, we’d love to hear from you.

In this role, you’ll install, maintain, and repair fuel pipework and storage systems across the UK, working on forecourts, commercial fuel sites, and industrial facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install UPP and steel fuel pipework to engineering specifications
  • Inspect, test and maintain fuel storage and distribution systems
  • Diagnose and repair faults on tanks, pipework and fuel systems
  • Read and work from technical drawings
  • Support upgrades, refurbishments, and site works alongside engineers and PMs
  • Operate safely in high‑risk, fuel‑handling environments
  • Travel across the UK (company vehicle provided)
Essential Requirements

Experience

  • Demonstrable hands‑on experience in the fuel industry – forecourt engineering, fuel systems, pumps, tanks, pipework, fuel maintenance, etc.
  • Experience in pipefitting OR transferrable fuel‑engineering work
  • Comfortable working in high‑risk fuel environments (forecourts, tanks, bunds, etc.)
Skills
  • Ability to install, maintain or repair fuel pipework systems (UPP/steel)
  • Strong problem‑solving skills on active sites
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Competent with pipefitting tools and equipment
  • Strong awareness of Health & Safety and environmental compliance
Physical / Practical
  • Physically fit and capable of hands‑on, outdoor site work
  • Willing to travel nationwide and work overtime when required
Mandatory Credentials
  • CSCS card
  • Full UK driving licence
  • UK work authorisation
  • NVQ Level 2/3 in Pipefitting or Industrial Pipefitting
Desirable (Trainable Later / Nice to Have)
  • City & Guilds Welding & Fabrication (Level 2/3)
  • BS EN ISO 9606-1 welding certification
  • UPP / OPW / Franklin Fueling manufacturer training
  • Confined Space (Medium or High Risk)
  • SPA Petrol Safety Passport
  • IPAF / PASMA
